The Core Philosophy

Endurance Is an Operating System

Strategy sets the direction. Execution determines the outcome.

Three decades of global operations leadership and 52 marathons have reinforced the same lesson: meaningful results rarely come from one dramatic move. They're built through disciplined execution, adaptation, and the willingness to keep moving when conditions get difficult.

Set the direction. Execute the next mile. Learn. Adapt. Keep moving.

— THE OPERATING PHILOSOPHY

One Philosophy. Many Arenas.

Whether transforming an organization, building a business, running a marathon, or climbing a mountain, progress follows the same path: know the destination, act with purpose, learn quickly, and keep moving forward—one mile at a time.

Know the Destination

Act with Purpose

Learn Quickly

Keep Moving Forward

Clarity creates direction. Whether building a business strategy, preparing for a marathon or pursuing a personal goal, meaningful progress starts with knowing where you want to go.

Setbacks are information. Learn from what didn't work, adapt and use failure as fuel for the next attempt.

Progress rarely happens all at once. Through boardrooms, marathon courses, entrepreneurship and mountains, the principle remains the same: keep moving forward—one mile at a time.

Goals don't create results—action does. Turn intention into meaningful progress through disciplined, purposeful execution.

— LEADERSHIP & TRANSFORMATION FRAMEWORK

Stratical™ — Where Strategy Becomes Execution

Great strategies don't fail because organizations lack ideas. They fail when strategy, execution and culture become disconnected. Stratical™ brings all three together—aligning where an organization is going, how it will get there, and the people who make transformation possible.

Strategy

Tactics

Culture

Define where you're going and why it matters. Strategy creates clarity around the destination, priorities and outcomes that matter most.

Turn strategy into execution. Translate priorities into ownership, milestones, measures and disciplined action that moves the organization forward.

Create the environment that makes change sustainable. Engage people in the why, build ownership and align behaviors with the organization's direction.

Failure Is Feedback

Put the Mindset Into Practice

— ENDURANCE & ADVENTURE

52 Marathons. Six World Majors. Thousands of Miles.

Running has been part of Barrett Hopper's life for more than four decades. Across 52 marathons, eight Boston finishes and races around the world, the miles have reinforced a simple lesson: extraordinary goals become manageable when you stop obsessing about the finish line and focus on the mile in front of you.

THE CORE PHILOSOPHY

One Mile at a Time

Big goals can be intimidating when viewed from the starting line. Marathons taught Barrett to focus on what can be controlled—the next mile, the next decision, the next step forward. That philosophy has traveled far beyond running, shaping how he approaches leadership, entrepreneurship, setbacks and adventure.

You don't have to conquer the entire journey today. Take care of the next mile.

Stories With Purpose

Leadership isn't only learned in boardrooms. Sometimes the most powerful lessons come through stories.

Herman's Journey of Purpose explores leadership, teamwork, belonging and what changes when people understand not only what they do—but why their contribution matters.

Reset Mist™ — Curiosity Into Creation

How a chemist's refusal to accept the status quo turned a stubborn real-world problem into a product through experimentation, failure, learning and relentless iteration.

When chemist and entrepreneur Barrett Hopper encountered persistent unwanted odors in everyday environments, his instinct wasn't simply to mask the problem—it was to understand whether chemistry could solve it. Drawing on more than three decades of chemistry experience, he began experimenting.

What followed were years of trials, failed formulas, reformulation and learning. Each setback provided another lesson—embodying the Faceplant Forward™ philosophy: see the problem, experiment, learn, improve and keep moving forward.

01. Spot the Problem

02. Experiment & Learn

03. Create & Launch

Identify a real problem worth solving instead of accepting the solutions already available.

Test. Fail. Reformulate. Learn. Repeat. Progress comes through persistence, not a single breakthrough.

Turn learning into something useful. Reset Mist™ emerged from years of chemistry, curiosity and persistence focused on solving a real problem
